Common questions
The importer missed some of my recipe
It works from the caption text, so it can only find what is written there. Ingredients each on their own line, with the amount first, parse best. Whatever it could not find is listed as a warning above the preview, and everything is editable before you save it.
Pasting a video link does not do anything
That is expected. Pulling audio or captions off TikTok, Instagram or YouTube means scraping, which breaks those platforms' terms of service. Copy the caption text and paste it into the box instead — that runs entirely on your phone.
An ingredient landed in the wrong aisle
Aisles are matched on the ingredient name against a list of keywords. Anything it does not recognise goes to “Everything else” rather than being guessed at. Email the ingredient and it will be added.
Does it know what my store has in stock?
No, and nothing does — no grocery chain publishes a real-time inventory feed a developer can use. What it does instead is sort your list into the aisle order for the kind of store you are in, and offer a substitution for anything not on the shelf.
Can I get my recipes onto another phone?
Not automatically, because nothing is stored off your device. Any single recipe can be shared as text from its page, which you can paste into the importer on the other phone.
My recipes are gone
Recipes live on the device only. Deleting the app, or clearing its storage from system settings, removes them permanently and there is no server copy to restore from. The six recipes that ship with the app always come back.
Reporting a problem
Useful things to include: the phone and OS version, what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead. If it involves an imported recipe, paste the caption text you used — that is usually enough to reproduce it exactly.
